Energy recovery
The energy contained in the regenerator's flue gas can be used via a turbo-expander to drive a generator. The gas pressure in the regenerator must be kept stable. In the event of fluctuations or disturbances in the power grid, a very fast switchover from expander to bypass operation may be necessary.
Requirements
- Fast differential-pressure control at the regenerator
- Switchover between turbo-expander and bypass
- Automatic start of the expander
- Synchronisation of the generator to the power grid
- Speed or power control of the turbo-expander
