Reference project
Pipeline, compressor control
Pipeline compressors compensate for the pressure losses in long natural-gas pipelines. Especially in branched pipeline systems this requires flexible compressor control to operate efficiently under changing operating conditions. Pipeline compressors are also used to store natural gas in gas storage facilities or to feed it back into the grid at the required pressure.
Requirements
- Optimal surge-limit control for efficient operation
- Load-sharing control between several compressors
- Pressure or flow control, as required
- Automatic start and stop of the plant
- Turbine control for the drive machine
- Surge detection and counting as a protective function for the compressor
