Pipeline, load-sharing control

Pipeline, load-sharing control

Gas compressors at pipeline compressor stations often operate with several machines simultaneously. For optimal efficiency their coordination must be precisely matched – if one compressor runs in blow-off mode, overall performance drops considerably. Traditionally, experienced staff controlled each compressor manually; modern automation dynamically optimises the operating states by means of intelligent load-sharing control. GEBHARDT Automation has more than 15 years of experience with load-sharing control. The stable algorithm guarantees high performance and straightforward commissioning.

Requirements

  • Automatic start and stop of the compressors
  • Operating-mode control for manual, automatic, suction-pressure, discharge or flow mode
  • Load-sharing control of the individual compressors, combined with operating-mode control
  • Optimisable for efficiency, flow or energy demand
