All safety, control and machine monitoring hardware modules can be combined at will – even within a single system. You can use identical modules with up to triple redundancy in one system for optimum safety and/or availability. Moreover, single systems (DualCore and Compact) can be configured as a redundant overall system in DUPLEX or TMR mode – with distributed redundancy.
All safety-relevant modules already comprise intrinsic redundancy and fault tolerance. Therefore, SIL3 can be achieved even with a single operating unit. As long as a module is available with redundancy to continue regular operation, all such modules can be hot-swapped.
